2B3 The Toronto Sessions

"A hot album of inspired instrumental cover songs... Collectively they pull off nearly all the tricks in the Hammond book:cluster chord stabs, slurs, real time drawbar movements, naked percussion lines and critically timed Leslie speed switches.... Producer Lance Anderson teams two organists and a back-up band per track, and the players prod each other to serious emotional highs."

MarkVail - Keyboard magazine Sept 2000

"Anderson aims to highlight the beautiful, warm wash of the B3 organ and the fearsome chops of his ringers, and he succeeds.... Hip Hug-her has the smoky, Southern flavour of Booker T's original with a more modern driving feel.... High Heel Feat is, like much of the album, an excuse for extended soloing. But the sly rythym work and sheer joyfulness of the players make it a fun listen....the recording is warm and deep, the performances are A-plus, and the fun factor is high.

JeffCalvin - Blues Revue Sept 2000

"2B3 is currently our highest selling independent Jazz recording. It is a legitimately good disc and highly sought after by many of our customers. Fans of Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff will appreciate the quality and overall energy of these performances and by the collection as a whole"

MikeSmith. - Jazz Dept. Buyer - HMV Superstore Toronto

"I bought the CD for my wife's birthday, and it's proved to be a big hit - she and her father are both Hammond nuts. Thanks to you and all the guys, it's terrific!"

"It's about damn time someone had the good sense to put out a CD like this....I know All the players and have had the pleasure of being on stage with several of them in the past. They are all Heroes of mine in the T.O. music scene and hope you can arrange a live Gig of these gifted musicians in the future."

" If you don't know it already, the players on [the CD] encompass an enormous chunk of our musical history... All 71 minutes of it is beautifully recorded by Nick Blagona. For B3 fans, you should read no further, just arrange to get it, now, ... Lance's liner note roadmap is invaluable (and the artwork a treat)... Most of the songs fade out so you know how much fun they had! You will too."

JohnValenteyne - Maple Blues Magazine/Toronto Blues Society, CJRT

" I have just spent the greatest evening listening to 2B3. Congratulations!! Not only is it great musically; but the production is awesome... This is truly a 'dream CD' for me."

JohnDonabie - CFRB

"This is just a brilliant CD and a real pleasure to listen to from beginning to end... It's great to hear all these great players let loose on some of my favourite tunes, and as a drummer, it's a real thrill to hear Ritchie Hayward doing what he does best. Great Production, too!"

PaulDeLong - drummer (Kim Mitchell)/Studio/ Sabian clinician

"Loved the CD. A Masterpiece. Should be a Grammy winner. (Man Denis sure gets the funkiest sounds outta that thang)...

TortoiseBlue - musician/organ repair wizard

"...the quality on all levels is really great throughout ... this thing sounds genuinely like everyone was just having a gas ..."

" I can't express how happy I was when I finally put '2B3' in my CD player... this disc goes way above any expectations I had... Having experience playing these beasts, I doubt if I could come up with any drawbar combinations not used here. Lance, this CD COOKS! My dream has always been to play keyboards with Tower of Power, if just for one night. Now I have another dream - to jam with you bunch of wild men!

GeorgeGrund - Hammond B3 enthusiast - Allentown Pa

" I received the CD yesterday and I just can't stop listening. Fabulous..."

GordBrown - Hammond B3 enthusiast - Toronto, Ont

" I got your CD last Saturday and have been blasting it all week. It's fantastic. These guys are really jamming. Some of that down home foot stomping music!"

BillCarr - Hammond B3 enthusiast - Philadelphia Pa

Northern-Hammond - Denis Keldie Trio

"Once you've had Keldie,' remarked session drummer Kevan McKenzie, ' you can't go back'.

T. BruceWittet - from article in MUZIC ETC by

"This one's from the same folks who brought you 2B3 the Toronto Sessions, only there is one B3 this time played by Denis Keldie and played very well, indeed. He's accompanied by Bill Murray on Guitar and Paul DeLong on drums in a program of ten jazzy originals ...It's not often that a sideman gets to have his own album and Keldie has used the opportunity to dedicate his to the memory of local keyboard players that have passed on: Gord Fleming, William "Smitty" Smith, Hugh Sullivan and most recently Bill McCauley.
